Controlled Flight into Terrain Avoidance (CFIT, TAWS, and ALAR) highlights the risk of CFIT and how to avoid it. This course identifies the leading causes of controlled flight into terrain and approach and landing accidents. It covers preventative measures to reduce accident rates, such as avionics systems, standard operating procedures, and using a stabilized approach. This course also ensures that pilots clearly understand TAWS functions, what alerts may occur, and how to respond to them. Additionally, we address common issues with TAWS, such as Nuisance Alerts, and when it is appropriate to inhibit the TAWS. For Part 135, Part 125, and Part 91 pilot training, our Controlled Flight into Terrain Avoidance (CFIT, TAWS, and ALAR) course provides a foundation of knowledge and understanding for pilots and crewmembers to avoid controlled flight into terrain and approach and landing accidents, as well as how to utilize the TAWS unit in their aircraft.
